British actor Emily Blunt has appeared on the December cowl of American Vogue dressed as Mary Poppins.
Wearing character because the eponymous nanny, the British actor is in an all-red ensemble by Dior, full with a full tulle skirt and a form-fitting blazer and an open umbrella by London Undercover.
The quilt was photographed by Annie Leibovitz and has been broadly praised by followers on social media, with individuals gearing up for the brand new movie, which comes out within the UK on 19 December.
“Can we do @Disney themed picture shoots for each journal cowl?” enthused one particular person on Twitter. “That is spectacular, as is Emily Blunt. (and all issues Mary Poppins)”.
One other teased: “Effectively that is an uncomfortable mixture of my teen and childhood crushes.”
The quilt picture marks a transfer away from the normal portrait-style pictures that almost all style magazines, together with Vogue, often favour.
As an alternative of a basic, close-up studio shot, we see Blunt in full size, with only a blue and cloudy sky behind her.
The shoot is accompanied by an in-depth interview through which the 35-year-old actor discusses her position in Mary Poppins Returns, which sees her taking up the beloved nanny character famously performed by Julie Andrews, who gained an Oscar for her efficiency within the 1964 movie.
Blunt tells the journal that she didn’t re-watch the basic movie in concern that it’d put her off.
“I knew that if I watched Julie Andrews’s model, possibly I might take the sting off of what my instincts have been telling me to do,” she stated. “Additionally, I didn’t wish to be utterly intimidated by the brilliance of her voice.”
