Flights have been suspended at Birmingham Airport because of an air site visitors management fault.

Passengers are being suggested to test departures and arrivals as flights are being diverted from the airport.

A spokesman stated: “We’re working to resolve the difficulty as quickly as attainable. We apologise for the inconvenience that is inflicting to our passengers.”

Flights are anticipated to be affected till 22:00 GMT, air site visitors administration organisation Eurocontrol stated.

It added that the fault was because of a failure of the digital flight plan system.

In an announcement, Eurocontrol stated arrivals had been “unavailable” and there have been “few flights with excessive delays”.

Individuals because of board flights have reported having to attend for hours and complained of lengthy delays.
